Analyses, based on autopsy, of approximately 1400 animals in the mustelids are to be examined for health and fitness tendencies. The animals of the mustelids are the protected species; Pine marten (Martes martes), Badger (Meles meles), Stoat (Mustela erminea), European polecat (Mustela putorius), Weasel (Mustela nivealis) and Otter (Lutra Lutra), and the non-protected species; Beech marten (Martes foina) and American mink (Mustela vison).

Samples from each animal has been tested for diseases, they have been tested for one or multiple of the following diseases: plasmacytosevirus, canine distemper virus, salmonella, and parasites. In total, 50 of the 1400 animals are not yet analysed, and autopsies are to be performed on each animal an samples from these are going to be tested for plasmacytosevirus , canine distemper virus etcetera.
