Wild Winter Days

Put the cold on hold and join us for the wildest winter experiences at Aalborg Zoo. From children to grandparents - everyone can join in and create wonderful winter memories together.

At Zoofariscenen you'll be well entertained with amazing shows and exciting storytelling. You can compete against the animals and each other in the Winter Zoo Olympics, try your hand at being a zookeeper or go behind the scenes with the polar bears.

Remember that all annual pass holders have free access to Springers from 2 January to 28 February.

11am - 3pm: Open House in the School Service 

The School Service Centre is an exciting world normally reserved for school classes. This weekend you have the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see many of the artefacts and live animals that are used every day in the classroom.

13:00: Wild Knowledge at Zoofariscenen.

On the Zoo Stage, you can listen to Aalborg Zoo's skilled zoo guides talk about a wide range of exciting and fascinating topics related to nature and the animals in the zoo.

Predator House 11.00 - 15.00

11am - 3pm: Open house in the carnivore kitchen - meet Aalborg Zoo's educators and have a chat about polar bears.

11.30am: Polar bears are fed in the outdoor facility

12.00 noon: Animals in detail with Christian Mogensen - focus on polar bears at the Zoo Safari Stage.

Nature - the cheap dirt

Sebastian Klein's lecture focuses on the state of nature. Can we save or even just improve it? 

What is the current state of biodiversity and what is the balance between utilising and protecting nature?  

Sebastian Klein guides us through these topics, shedding light and putting things in the spotlight. So look forward to an evening where nature comes under the microscope.

11:00 and 13:00: The Flying Suitcase Circus at Zoofariscenen

When The Flying Trunk Circus takes the stage at Zoofariscenen, you're guaranteed great entertainment, fun and frolics and strange circus tricks that will delight everyone. Jørgen and Søren have created a show rooted in the proud jester tradition that will delight audiences of all ages. They perform impressive juggling, balancing, unicycles, a bit of magic and not least a generous dose of North Jutland humour.

After each performance, children and adults can try out the circus equipment, where balls, cones, rings and unicycles are laid out. Challenges, sweat and a good laugh are guaranteed.

- And fancy treating a friend? Then take advantage of the opportunity this weekend, where all season ticket holders have Free access to a companion of your choice. Grab your friend, girlfriend, child, neighbour or mother by the hand and enjoy a great day at the Zoo in the company of the exciting animals. Each annual pass entitles you to one extra visitor.

Visit the Zoo's interpreters in the square by the Tropical House. Here you can touch, ask questions and learn about animals from all over the world.

1.00 pm: Mikkel Sortemos at Zoofariscenen

Learn about animals and hear entertaining facts and myths from the wild world of animals when nature educator Mikkel Sortemos shares his passion for animals and nature. You'll learn about the world's diverse, amazing and wondrous species. You'll experience wild stories and see skulls and skins up close. 

11.15-15.45: Open in the Communication Container
Visit the Zoo's interpreters in the square by the Tropical House. Here you can touch, ask questions and learn about animals from all over the world. 

Warm up by taking part in the big Winter Zoo Olympics, where the animals challenge you to a duel in many different disciplines. The Winter Zoo Olympics will test your strength, balance and speed, and you can enter the draw for an annual Zoo pass.

Come and try your hand at some of the zookeeper tasks and lend a hand with some of the animals. 

11.00-15.00 Open house at the South American Tropical House

11.00-11.30am Make activation feed for orangutans

1.00 pm Mikkel Sortemos from the World of Species entertains and educates you on the Zoofari stage

14.00-14.30 Make activation food for the baboons

Participation is free when the entrance fee is paid. Just turn up at the facility at the announced time.

11.00-16.00: In the education container in the square by the tropical house, you can meet the zoo's educators and get closer to exciting Danish animals.

Find out what you can do to help the animals where you live and make your own seed bag with flower seeds for garden insects.

Zoo fairground at 13.00

At Grandparents' Days, children and adults have a great opportunity to sing, dance and play together when Michael Back visits Aalborg Zoo.
Each grandparent can take one grandchild to the Zoo for free for each annual pass or paid admission.

13.00: Michael Bak entertains on stage.

Join us for a fun concert where we sing songs and play old games that have brought joy to children and adults for generations. For example, songs such as "I walked across sea and land", "Rits Rats" and "Shoemaker Polka", which can be remembered from when you were a child.

 RayRay at Zoofariscenen 

RayRay organises a magical children's concert at Zoofariscenen. RayRay brings a huge dose of joie de vivre and invites the whole family on a journey of rainbows, flying dragons and disappearing smiles.

29 March at 11am:
 Brush at the Zoo Fairy Stage


Minisjang's popular star Børste is ready to enchant the audience with a brand new and exciting show! The Zoo Fairy Stage will be transformed into a big party when Børste takes the stage with an exuberant and energetic show that will thrill the youngest members of the audience.

Children will be drawn into the Minisjang Universe with popular songs such as "Wheels on the Bus", "Borte-Tit" and "Reverse Day" that will resonate in everyone's hearts and get them singing along at the top of their lungs.

Brush and his new friend will perform together and will involve the audience in the show, where children will have plenty of opportunities to dance along and actively participate in the performance.

Over the past few years, Børste the hedgehog has become a well-known personality to countless children, thanks to his cute and funny programmes on DR's Minisjang channel and chart-topping music tracks on streaming services. Although the show is primarily designed for children aged 1-5 years, it is expected that older children will also find great enjoyment and entertainment in Børste's energetic and fun performance.

Brush's show is expected to last for half an hour. After his performance, the audience will have the opportunity to meet Brush in person, get a warm hug and take a memorable photo together.
