An exhibition about the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals

Humans are special. We have the ability to imagine a better world and take action to create it. And that's what the UN's 17 Global Goals are all about.

In the World Space we present four selected SDGs and invite you to step into a different exhibition and experience the goals sensually and physically.

Get inspired to make the SDGs an everyday goal - because a small effort can have a big impact.

Come and learn more about the SDGs so you can share your knowledge and together we can find ways to achieve them.

The exhibition is included in the entrance ticket to Aalborg Zoo

Goal 7 - Sustainable energy
Wind is an amazing force that can propel giant wind turbine blades around both land and sea. And with 'owl feathers' on the blades, noise is reduced.

Goal 12 - Responsible consumption and production
By changing the way we produce and consume our goods, we can reduce our footprint on the world. In The World Room you can learn more about how the production of food and clothing affects the climate and how you can make a difference at home.

Goal 15 - Life on Land
As we humans take over more and more of the world and meadows, forests and savannahs turn into fields, the diversity of nature is disappearing at an alarming rate. In the World Space, you will learn more about the SDGs so you can share your wishes and ideas for a better world.

Goal 17 - Partnerships for action
Only by working together to solve common problems can we create a better world for us all. The World Space is developed in collaboration between Aalborg Zoo, Siemens Gamesa, Himmerland Boligforening and supported by Knud Højgårds Fond and Sydbank.

The bear man has grown wings

- At least one of them.
Watch how a large piece of a wind turbine blade becomes a giant portal over the Bear Man, allowing you to experience the impressive dimensions of a wind turbine blade up close and even walk into it. Further down in the garden, you'll find a piece of the tip of the blade that illustrates how long the blade was originally.

The large wing pieces come from a 97 metre long wind turbine blade and are part of the exhibition "World Space". At the entrance to the exhibition, a third piece of turbine blade is placed at the entrance. The exhibition was created in close collaboration with Siemens Gamesa, who also supplied the blades and the spectacular portal.
