Emperor tamarin

The Imperial Tamarine is named after Kaiser Wilhelm I, who had a long beard and was very interested in zoology.

It lives in family groups consisting of a dominant male, a sexually mature female, as well as several lower-ranking males and a number of young of different ages. Twins are rare in other primates, but are common in the emperor tamarin.

Emperor tamarins are very peaceful and playful.
