If you're crazy about animals and want to learn more about them, our speaks are a great experience. Every day you can learn more about selected animals as the keepers talk about the animals' lives and behaviour. Did you know that warthogs can weigh up to 150kg? Or that coatis are related to raccoons? You can hear about this and much more at today's speaks around Aalborg Zoo.

Places to eat

Aalborg Zoo offers plenty of opportunities to satisfy your hunger - or just satisfy your sweet tooth. In the Penny Lane Orangery, a famous Aalborg pastry shop, you can chat over a hot cup of coffee and enjoy a large selection of delicious cakes and sandwiches. Here you can combine a visit to the café with some lovely hours at Aalborg Zoo.

Or how about a trip to the Butterfly Café, where you sit in the middle of the rainforest surrounded by exotic animal sounds and trickling waterfalls? Enjoy the surroundings while eating crispy pizzas straight from the oven.

And then there's Restaurant Skovbakken, which is always ready with delicious grilled dishes, burgers, daily specials, salads and sandwiches. There's something for every taste and a guaranteed good experience.

If you're more into home-baked cake and coffee in a thermos, you're welcome to bring your own food to Aalborg Zoo. We even have tables and benches where you can sit and enjoy it.

Experience the African savannah

On our vast savannah, you can spend a long time standing and experiencing the animals' daily routines. There are giraffes eating branches from the baobab tree, zebras staying close together in herds, ostriches that can run faster than most and many other animals walking among each other. However, lions have their own enclosure, otherwise the rest of our savannah animals would probably not thrive in peace and harmony!
