Africa Days 29 May - 1 June

During the Kr. Ascension holiday, you can learn more about the Black Mamba Anti-Poaching Unit, which protects wild animals from poaching, in the African Village. Black Mamba was established in 2013 and works in the Balule Nature Reserve, part of the larger Kruger National Park area in South Africa.

The all-female Black Mambas patrol the Balule area daily. They remove traps and snares and monitor the area, and have helped to greatly reduce poaching in the area.

Aalborg Zoo has financially supported the project since its inception in 2013 and has helped spread its message to visitors to the zoo.
